Ingredients:
- 4 cups broccoli, chopped
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or you could also use Oscar Meyer Real Bacon Bits
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup salted sunflower seeds
- 1/4 cup red onion sliced thin
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 4 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. cider vinegar
- Do not make salad too far ahead of eating time as it will get limp and by limp I mean if you mix the sauce with the broccoli, fresh cut broccoli by itself cut up ahead of time will not get limp.
- You can prepare all the ingredients ahead of time but keep them separate from each other until the moment you actually want to eat the salad. I would suggest cutting up the 4 cups of broccoli ahead of time and storing it in an airtight container or a large Ziploc.
- I would cut the onion up and store that separately as well in its own Ziploc until needed as well.
- If you use fresh bacon, you can even make that ahead of time and crumble it up and store it in a small Ziploc.
- Make the sauce ahead of time and store in a container. When the time comes to eat this salad, get a large plastic bowl with lid; put all the ingredients in it and pour the sauce all over and shake to coat.
